OINP 2026 Allocation
The federal government just handed Ontario its nomination quota for 2026: 14,119 spots.
Last year was tough for many applicants when the numbers were slashed to 10,750. Seeing a 31% increase this year is a positive sign, but it’s not quite the "open door" we saw in 2024.
What does this mean for you? The OINP is becoming a "specialist's program." If you look at the 1,800+ invitations sent out this week alone, the province is double-downing on Healthcare, Education, and regional growth outside the GTA.
If you’re waiting in the pool with a standard profile, "waiting and seeing" isn't a strategy for 2026. With 14,119 spots, the competition will be focused. You need to look at how your profile aligns with Ontario’s specific 2026 priorities—whether that's through a regional job offer or shifting into an in-demand stream.
The roadmap for PR is changing. Let’s make sure your file is ready.
